GE side by side refrigerator started making noises in the freezer side of the machine and you wanted to figure out what the problem was so you can either repair it or so you can have a idea on what is going on for when the appliance repairman gets there. First thing you would want to test when the refrigerator is loud in the freezer side.
1. Is the Ice maker jammed with a piece of Ice?
2. Is the Evaporator Fan Motor making the noise?( must push the door switch button with door open for fan to come on with this model gss25sgsbss )
3. Is the noise coming from the back of the refrigerator? making a clicking noise
OK so the noise is coming from the inside of the freezer and it sounds like the Evaporator Fan Motor, Which is most common with this model gss25sgbss. In order to get to the Evap Motor you must do a few things.
1. Remove all food from freezer area
2. Remove all the selves from the freezer area
3. Remove the Ice maker
4. Remove the Ice maker motor
4. Remove the Evap Fan Motor Housing Area
